UBUNTU PROJECT
The "Ubuntu" Social Project is an initiative dedicated to promoting capoeira not only as an art form and cultural expression, but also as a powerful tool for social transformation. Created by Mestre Neto (José Neto de Castro), this project aims to bring capoeira to society, offering practical and theoretical classes to underprivileged communities and vulnerable groups, with the aim of providing education, inclusion and personal development.
OBJECTIVES

-
Improved Quality of Life: Through regular practice of capoeira, participants improve their physical and mental health, promoting general well-being and an improved quality of life.
-
Social Inclusion and Breaking Barriers: The project promotes social inclusion by integrating people of diverse origins and ages, regardless of their socioeconomic status, by offering access to the practice of capoeira.
-
Education and Training: Participants receive comprehensive training, including the practice of capoeira movements and an understanding of the history, culture and values associated with this art through theoretical classes.
-
Personal Development: Capoeira is a tool for personal growth that teaches discipline, respect, self-control and teamwork. Project participants are empowered to face personal challenges and build a better future.
-
Dissemination of Capoeira in Manaus: The project plays an active role in the dissemination of capoeira in the city of Manaus, involving a growing number of individuals and communities in the practice of this traditional art.
Methodology
-
Practical Classes and Physical Development: Practical classes are frequent, allowing participants to improve their physical skills, motor coordination and fitness. Capoeira, with its distinctive movements, offers a fun and effective way to exercise.
-
Theoretical Classes and Cultural Knowledge: Theoretical education is a cornerstone of the project. Participants delve into the history of capoeira, explore its African roots and understand its impact on Brazilian culture. This not only enriches their experience of capoeira, but also ingrains a deep respect for the rich tradition that surrounds it.
-
Personalized Mentoring: ICVI educators play a key role in providing personalized guidance and support. This support allows participants to reach their full potential, both in capoeira and in everyday life.
-
Community Events and Celebration of Culture: To further strengthen community ties, the association organizes events such as capoeira circles, educational lectures, and cultural performances. These events not only engage the community but also foster a sense of belonging.
The Ubuntu Project is an inspiring model of how capoeira can serve as a multifaceted tool to empower individuals and transform communities. Combining practical and theoretical classes, personalized support, and cultural events, ICVI is building a legacy of empowerment, inclusion, dissemination of capoeira, improved quality of life, and enhanced health and well-being for those who see capoeira not only as an art, but also as a path to a promising future.
